LAKA is always evolving and has started to take on a larger role in the world of the Polynesian watermen. Starting in the summer of 2001, The LAKA Foundation, either attended or participated in a series of Outrigger Canoe Races in the Oceanside Harbor. Oceanside is located in the northern part of San Diego county, and Oceanside Harbor is alive, and paddling with the spirit of Aloha. In 2004 LAKA started a Polynesian day at the La Costa Resort and Spa as a way for more people to learn about the beauty that the people of Polynesia have to offer.
