2005- La Costa Resort and Spa- 'Day of Polynesia'   

    Labor Day weekend the La Costa Resort and Spa hosted the 2nd annual "Day of Polynesia". Patrons were treated to events such as Lei Making, tiki carving, & Hula dancing, and for the first time could paddle a canoe. Guests of the resort were able to sign up for a day trip, and were taken by limousine, to the Oceanside Harbor for a day of paddling traditional style outrigger canoes. This turned out to be so much fun that the resort is now working to make this a regular event for their members.

    We at the Laka Foundation would like to thank the members of the Paopao and Makana Ke Kai Outrigger Canoe Clubs for their participation and generosity in making this a fun filled event for everyone.
